I’m a glass-is-half-full person. Besides, as a student of history, we can see the pendalum swinging back and forth on all variety of topics. Right now DeSantis is leading the push-back on DEI, ESG, Woke, and all. Even Trump is backpeddling and catching up (consider his previous support of mentally ill men competing against women). What’s his current stance on LGBTQ+ etc.? Anyway, like with climate hysteria, the doom sayers are always proven wrong. The Arctic is not ice free, the coasts have not flooded, etc. And on a tangent, McGregor who some post here on FR said all of the Ukrainian solders were dead and depressed. I think a few may still be breathing, though they might be depressed.

So, he is admitting that Trump is being honest when he says DeSantis was in tears when he came to him as a Gubernatorial candidate.
So, to whom is he taking his tears to now, his wife? Maybe she should run if she is the stronger of the two.

DeSantis did it to himself. Two things he did to benefit himself for his Presidential run, was change part of Florida’s Sunshine Laws, to keep his travel records secret, and the Resign-to-Run Law, so he didn’t have to resign to run for President. To me it shows a disturbing pattern of using the Republican-run State Legislature to help his own political future...and he did all of those this past May prior to announcing his run. He is the only Florida governor known to use “executive privilege” to keep records hidden. I firmly believe he was already planning on running for President prior to his re-election last November. He just needed to retain his seat so he would have a platform to run from.

I just don’t have the impression that DeSantis’ heart was ever really in this.
If I'm still alive in 2028, and he's the nominee, I won't vote for him. He's already shown me a disturbing pattern of using the Florida State Legislature to benefit his political future.

Plenty of people on FR couldn't understand why President Trump was attacking DeSantis so early. I wasn't one of them, because I knew that Trump wasn't fantasizing about DeSantis running. He knew full well last year, that RDS was planning to run. The naysayers refused to believe it of DeSantis, and criticized Trump for his comments. Anyone who knows Trump, knows he doesn't say things like that unless he has verified info at hand.
That's probably the way he looks when Casey scolds him.
If true, that right there tells me he's not the right person for the job. If you have to be pressured by others to run for higher office, and you acquiesce to their desires, despite your own misgivings, then you are a weak person who should not be in charge of the USA.
