A Ukrainian veteran who lost his leg in the war was booted from a flight as he sobbed asking for help getting home from Israel.
A viral video published on TikTok Saturday shows the veteran, who has not been publicly identified, standing with crutches at the front of the plane, speaking with crew members before the Wizz Air flight was set to take off from Tel Aviv to Warsaw, Poland.
According to the uploader, @mbbddk, the flight crew for the Hungary-based airline said the man could not take his seat because of his prosthesis.
The veteran desperately tried to explain that he lost his leg fighting against Russia’s invasion, and that he was trying to get back to his family in Ukraine.

Retaliation for Uke Nazi Press Gangs operating in unprotected rural Hungarian Villages?
Not just sad, but totally wrong!!!!!!!!!
I have an above-the-knee amputation myself...If I was ever restricted from a flight because of my prosthetic, I’d sue the airlines for everything I could get...
Not everything needs to be videoed and uploaded to social media. This situation should not have been recorded.
Why not?
L
I don’t understand this - every amputee I’ve seen wearing a prosthetic can remove it.
Are there injuries and surgeries that don’t permit that kind?
Send the guy back home. Enough.
Maybe they think the guy could take his leg off and use it as a weapon?
ah geez
As is usual with stories like this, there is most likely a missing element or two that would detract from the sensationalism of the headline.
It’s nothing new that the ‘news’ business is nasty.
Maybe his family should join him in Israel.... If he goes back to Ukraine, Zelenskyy would probably send him back to the front lines to get his other leg blown off.
Not that I know of....
My wife says she’ll take my leg away to punish me if I am ever a “bad boy”...LOL
Maybe his seat was in an exit row. Not that that precludes another solution.
Why would a reporter bother digging for details when they can just pass on nebulous information from who-knows-where? “Who, what, when, where, why” — that’s literally taught to first graders.
Was he a Nazi in Israel?
Then this story makes no sense. As a previous poster wrote, there’s more to it.
I don’t understand why he would be deemed “unfit to fly” with a leg amputation...He can still sit and be strapped with the seat belt....
Unfortunately 99% of the time that is correct. You would be hard pressed to find a single story that doesn’t have key elements removed or made up and added.
I don’t either, unless it’s some really weird, primitive kind of prosthesis - which I very much doubt, if he received it in Israel.
(I’ve seen celebrities with them just take them off on TV, like it was nothing...)
It’s even worse if you happen to be at the center of a news ‘happening’. You don’t recognize it, when you read it in a newspaper. (And that has always been true, not just since the news biz got so corrupt.)
