Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday he would not be former President Donald Trump’s running mate if given the opportunity to join him on the ticket.
“I don’t think so. I’m not a No. 2 guy,” DeSantis said on the “Wisconsin Right Now” radio show, saying he would rather stay on as governor because the vice presidency “doesn’t really have any authority.”
Asked about his own thoughts on a running mate, DeSantis said, "It’s a little bit presumptuous to be doing that at this stage."
"I’m here to win the early primaries, and that’s what we’ve got to do first," he added.

His answer says, this is all about me and all for me. He’s not in it for the right reasons. Trump didn’t WANT to give up his cushy life...He’s not doing it foe himself. Contrast couldn’t be more stark
This touches on issues of who will Trump pick as a running mate.
So many people on Free Republic, are so critical of so many Republicans , that I wonder what the reaction will be when Trump picks a running mate.
Odds are the Trump will pick a nationally known Republican, possibly one of those who is running for the nomination against him right now.
If Trump thinks outside the box , and chooses a running mate who no one could have predicted ,then that will give us lots to talk about this time next year , when the GOP convention is happening.
Only in your mind, and the small percentage who support him. No doubt they are all rooting for Jack Smith & DA Bragg to to bee successful in taking out Trump, because you all know that is his only hope. even then I suggest he will be passed by.
So if Ron was smart or had 1/2 of wisdom he would stop the greedy attempt to be president tool to the people lining his pocket and dangling carrots of future favors infront if him and complete his governorship term.
He said as much in his statement. He knows he is not presidential material he knows he only is pretending a run and wont be nominated. so why if he is such a great leader is he wasting time away from and neglecting his state and its people, many of which are realizing what a backstabber liar he is and early polling shows FL doesnt support him for president.

Hey thanks, I will! I'd rather have a lefty as Governor than a popular Republican who abandoned his state immediately after winning re-election, and basically nuked his political future. But don't worry, Ron will get a K Street job I'm sure.
