Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked President Biden Wednesday on the sidelines of the NATO summit for providing his country with cluster bombs, highly controversial munitions that are outlawed by more than 100 nations.
Zelensky acknowledged it was a “difficult political decision” for Biden to move forward on providing the weapons, which make an explosive more dangerous by indiscriminately dispersing hundreds of projectiles over a larger area.
“It’s very simple, you know, to criticize, for example, cluster munitions, and you made a difficult political decision,” Zelensky told Biden as the pair appeared together in Vilnius, Lithuania, amid the NATO summit.

I don’t believe anything from either side, and mainly want the war to be negotiated to a quick end, as I don’t see the final outcome changing much.
That said, it doesn’t reflect well on us as a super power if we are sending the wrong tools for the mission because we ran out. At very least it is inefficient, and that’s already a huge problem with armed forces in general and wartime armed forces in particular.
Thanks for breaking international moral laws for Zelensky.
A comprehensive story about Zelensky’s way to power and about his handlers? A must see!
Maybe that Sarin wasn’t ‘destroyed’ after all..............
I wonder if the Ukes are using land and sea mines efficiently?
Those are easy and cheap to manufacture. We could send millions of them to confound the Russians and damage their ships badly at sea.
If Russia invaded this country, we would be willing to use any weapons to destroy the invader. Bravo to Ukraine for taking that approach.
What about the largest non-nuclear bombs in our arsenal? Those bunker busters and fuel air thermobarics; could we supply the Ukes with a few planes that fly high enough to evade Russian SAMs antiaircraft and drop those bombs willy-nilly on the occupying invading Russian troops? Or accidentally across the border into Russia proper? Would that cause some consternation on the Russian side?
Like giving a little boy a loaded gun.

Well now Russia can start using hyperbaric fuel bombs. Why not?
The problem is they are running up debt & using my tax dollars to fund one side of a war between two left factions. I’m happy to see both sides of the left lose.
155 mm artillery ammunition would have been better. But I guess we don’t have any, and nobody is making more, either.
What happened to all the “depleted” uranium rounds that were supposed to have been already sent?
I can’t believe we ran out of ammo. How would a real war with Russia work out.
This is not only breaking moral laws, it’s breaking all sorts of international agreements.
But if Biden’s doing it, I guess that’s okay, since I’m not hearing any blow-back from the usual leftist sources.
Actually...I take that back. I believe Amnesty International actually did make a critical remark. Congrats to them! Credit where credit is due.
Cluster bombs are entirely anti-personnel weapons and will destroy a civilian population.
Biden doing the same with US military munitions as he did
with Strategic Petroleum Reserves.
Cluster munitions from a cluster buck. What an appropriate gift!
Cluster bombs, the gift that keeps on giving, for years…
If Russia invaded this country, we would be willing to use any weapons to destroy the invader. Bravo to Ukraine for taking that approach.
********
The Russians are not going to take this lying down. They now have an excuse to use their own gruesome weapons.
He did very well in the Wife department, I’ll give him that.
