One would guess Yevgeny if alive could easily disprove this.
He could hold up a visible current copy of Pravda for the world to see.
I highly doubt that Yevgeny cares what some retired general says offhand in another country.
If Putin were going to off him he wouldn’t do it quietly. He’d do it publicly to send the message to not screw around.
