5 injured after shooting in Bladensburg, nearby roads closed: police
Police Chief says people from one car shot into one other car that was leaving a funeral in the nearby Fort Lincoln Cemetery; no return fire. Five injured people transported to hospitals. He says this sort of thing is unusual for this community. (Interesting to hear -- a friend of mine who has relatives buried there said he never went to place flowers on the graves without packing heat, and that was 20 some years ago.)

When I first began working as a lowly GS-7 for the Census Bureau (coming from far away and not familiar with the DC area) in the mid-1980s I almost rented an apartment in Bladensburg. The helpful — VERY helpful — woman from the rental office who was showing me the place said bluntly: “You don’t want to live here”.
And she even recommended a nice place several miles up the Beltway; well, it was nice THEN, but you sure wouldn’t want to live there now.
If she was in the habit of doing that sort of thing regularly, she probably saved countless innocent lives.
I’m sure that is an area considered utopia by PBS, Democrats and the MSM that is inhabited and managed by massive affirmative action hires.

A funeral, wedding or birthday party with guests not wearing bullet resistant Kevlar vests and metal helmets is, well, irresponsible. Safety first.
This was yet another funeral shooting in the DC metro. This time they hit the procession instead of killing people at the cemetery, as they usually do. Seems like they kill one guy, and wait for his buddies to show up at the funeral to get some more.
The attendees haven’t seemed to figure that out yet.
