I had a relocation job where I was moving a 34kV primary line.
It was directly under, by many feet, a 220kV line.
The new poles were installed and the wire was pulled.
At the end of the day, the linemen pulled the temp grounds off.
The 220 heated up the lines underneath enough for a pole mounted bolt to set the pole on fire, which burned down, and ripped off the new wire.
Foreman got fired…
“Foreman got fired…”
Did you find another job after that? Just kidding!
Wow. Who signed off on that, eh?
Imagine if any phone or cable TV lines were under a line like that.
