Performance Winner: Lithium-Ion
Lead-acid has been the traditional power source for forklifts and is still a reliable choice. But if you want better performance, go with lithium-ion batteries.
I’ve seen a lot of fork lifts that run off of propane too.
Lithium batteries are a good power source.
Ryobi (Taiwan) has made this perfectly clear.
And it is good low voltage back up DC power much more practical.
I hated cordless tools until NIMH batteries came along and then Lithium batteries blew that away. They are expensive and must be charged properly, but performance is incredible. Life of battery is long.
