The "pay it forward" strategy seems like a great idea, but I'm curious about how the system works.

Does the donor buy tickets for a particular theatre and time, and then the beneficiary claims those tickets (online or at the door)? What if those tickets remain unclaimed?

Or does the donor buy "open" tickets that can be used anytime and any place? How does that work out logistically with so many theatres and times involved?

In theory since movie tickets are mostly bought online and emailed to people all you’d have to do is buy a bunch of tickets, get people to tell you they want to see it and email them a ticket.

But you’ve got to put in the work. Actually find people who want to see it and email them. It would seem people are doing the buying but failing at distributing.
