Yes, I agree. But that still doesn’t get him off the hook. I expect the leader of an infantry company, or a steel mill, or a nation to be ready. Period. You accepted the job. Be ready.
Don’t get me wrong here. Trump is still my guy for 2024. I can only hope that he has learned from his rookie mistakes. Has he learned? It’s a mixed bag so far. But there is still time.
Trump railed against the deep state during the 2016 campaign. Once he got the job, he hired the deep state: Bolton, Barr, Wray, Milley etc etc.
The deep state was not some new or novel concept. It has been discussed and written about since the 50s. Then, it was called the “shadow government” Later it was addressed in the multi million seller “None Dare Call it Conspiracy” which came out in the early 70s
