Russian missiles badly damaged a historic Orthodox cathedral in the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa, sparking outrage and prompting President Zelensky to vow retaliation.
The strikes killed at least one person and injured several others, Ukrainian officials said, the latest in a wave of attacks on Odesa. The attacks also destroyed other historic buildings, Ukraine’s culture ministry said.
The Transfiguration Cathedral is Odesa’s largest church building. It was consecrated in 1809, destroyed during the Soviet era in 1936 before being rebuilt when Ukraine became an independent nation.

News flash: it was an off course Ukronazi air defence missile. The fact that the eastern facade was hit when Russian forces are in the west along with the obvious fragmentation marks all over the interior prove it. The only question was whether it was targeted which I wouldn’t put past Zelensky.

What is lovely to think about is that these churches have been rebuilt, perhaps not exactly as they were, but then again, rebuilt. And now they stand renewed as memorials — assuming we can remember....
Lest you forget. Zelensky, who is Jewish, closed numerous Christian Orthodox churches and banned celebrating the Orthodox Christmas on January 7th.
