Maggie Haberman Source Says Bonkers Anti-LGBTQ Attack On Trump Was Made By DeSantis Camp — And ‘Passed Off’ To a Supporter

Maggie Haberman revealed that the much-derided anti-LGBTQ video attacking ex-President Donald Trump was produced by a Ron DeSantis staffer and “passed off” to a supporter for publication.

The video appeared in the tweet to originate from another account, and merely retweeted and commented on by the official DeSantis campaign account:

A DeSantis campaign aide had originally produced the video internally, passing it off to an outside supporter to post it first and making it appear as if it was generated independently, according to a person with knowledge of the incident.

The DeSantis campaign declined to comment on specific questions about its spending, the candidate’s travel and the video.

First off, there's a questionable source in habberman, and the nyt.

However, the desantis campaign doesn't appear to have said they didn't produce it inhouse.

Remember, initially there were those that claimed the video was not associated with the desantis campaign, even though it was tweeted out by the desantis warroom.

Then, after several days, desantis acknowledged the video was associated with their campaign, and began defending the video.

Now it appears they tried to pass the video off as being produced by an outside the campaign source, to give the campaign plausible deniability...

This may have been another, likely jeff roe associated, dirty trick, like the ai fake images of Trump and fauci, and using ai to fake Trump's voice.

If the above is true, I don’t want Ron anywhere near the White House.

So why then are you so upset about this video? Because it beings attention to Trump being pro-gay is my guess. He’s done a good job of keeping that hidden from the average person, so I think the video was right on target.

Well, this all would have come out had Trump even had a inkling of investigation during the last 8 years. Wait, he was investigated quite thoroughly. Well, then.

Why not? Having a pro-gay President is important to you? Or you see LGBT support as off limits in campaigns? Not sure what you think is exactly wrong about it. I think it’s an EXTREMELY important issue, especially at this critical juncture point.

Maggie Lindsy Haberman is an American journalist, born on October 30, 1973. She is a senior political correspondent for The New York Times and a political analyst for CNN. She has previously worked as a political reporter for the New York Post, the New York Daily News, and Politico. She was also part of a team that was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize in 2021 for reporting on the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus.”

No bias there. SMH

Promising to protect gays is being pro gay in your mind?

Why would you advocate for violence against someone?

I see gays as troubled humans who need help. I see activists that promote violence as a way of promoting the acceptance homosexuality as wrong. Many gays I've known don't even agree with those activists.

What the? Talk about projection. And an attempt to take the discussion far into left field. There’s no discussion of violence by me, or even in that video. It’s an attempt to advise people that Trump supports the gay lifestyle, nothing more. Which is a very important campaign issue, or at least it should be. Too many “conservatives” want it to just go away now though, because their guy is on the wrong side of it.

Thanks...good response.

I think gays are searching for a normal life from a not so normal life. It’s promoted today.. accepted.. but it’s not God’s plan.

It was well known in 2016 and 2020 that Trump was OK with gay people and their relationships.

The ad tries to tie him into the extreme LGBTQ+ stuff happening now, which is baloney.

Beyond that, it’s a creepy ad. All the bodybuilder, macho stuff. It’s an attempt to copy the stuff young guys (not working for a campaign) make for Trump, but it doesn’t work because it’s not organic. It’s forced and fake.

By Support..you mean advocate?
I can let a person live a decent life as they wish ..but when they visit schools and go beserk in parade...when they delight in showing how queer they are..i cant stand it!!!.
Trump can take a stand to not hinder.. and still not agree its right ..

Not in 2016 it wasn’t. Trump actually campaigned in 2016 that he would try to do something about the Supreme Court decision that required gay marriage to be recognized nationally. But then, immediately after being elected, he announced he was no longer going to pursue that and declared it settled law. He flip flopped/backstabbed conservatives on the issue. It was the same day/week he announced he was no longer going to try to lock Hillary up.

We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” Trump said. “With the help of many of the people here tonight in recent years, our movement has taken incredible strides, the strides you’ve made here is incredible,” he added.

The gala, which celebrated progress for the LGBTQ community — including the Respect for Marriage Act, which was signed into law by President Joe Biden just days prior to the event — offered the former president an opportunity to solidify his bona fides among a small, yet often politically and financially powerful group of supporters while contrasting himself with potential rivals for the Republican nomination, such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Trump has bèen fair with all.
In raising his family, he has passed on a few antis.. you can instill yes and no into kids, early.. they should know where parents stand on issues.. it steers them.

I am a retired hair dresser.. gay men are in the business. Some are ok and some are unbearable. They dont have the right to go the route of making others uncomfortable... and do not have the right to try to influence children

DeSantis listened to the wrong voices. He should have waited 4 more years, instead of getting into the racket of this year’s Presidential run. Emotions running high, and he came in on a wrong note.

Mediate itself is a questionable source. The entire episode could be a false flag operation paid with dark money sources. The product is then laundered through fake news hacks like Maggie Haberman and Mediate.

assuming this is true, the desantis campaign is nothing more than the Cruz 2.0 campaign, turning to nasty dirty tricks in the absence of authentic appeal to the voters ... we absolutely do NOT want any more people with such low ethics running this country ... period ...

we conservatives have suffered for decades with scumbags pretending to be conservative to get elected, and we have been told that we HAD to vote for the lesser of two evils ... that’s right, we were told that our only choice was to vote for evil!

along comes Donald J. Trump, the leader that we had all been praying would come along and lead we conservatives out of the desert of scumbag politicians knowingly lying to us with plethoras of false promises ...

and he did ... Donald J. Trump DID lead us out of the desert for four years, so we now KNOW what an alternative to the scumbags actually looks like, AND therefore a bright light has been shinned on the false conservatives, making them oh so much more recognizable than we thought was possible ...

I for one, will now NEVER vote for such another such scumbag, and am thankful that i’ll be able to vote for Donald J. Trump to lead us for four more years ...

after that, there is not another Donald J. Trump, and after Donald J. Trump’s second four year term, all we have to look forward to is the resumption of the degradation of our once proud Republic into a fascist, feudal society run by a handful of gazillionaires and Deep State overlords, while the rest of us are consigned to the peasantry ...
