....Demolition has already started at the 1495 N. Ocean Blvd. property, purchased by Lauder from Limbaugh's widow. It's not the first time Lauder has bulldozed his buys to the ground: He tore down homes on two other Palm Beach lots and recently listed the parcels together for a sale price of $200 million, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this year. Limbaugh's erstwhile two-story, five-bedroom manse, built in 1992, boasted almost 22,000 square feet; the parcel also featured two smaller residences.
Although no blueprints have yet been handed over to local officials, word is that Lauder plans on erecting a custom home on the land. Lauder isn't the only billionaire who has recently succumbed to the knock-it-down trend: A historic Houston mansion worth $24 million, purchased last year by Astros owner Jim Crane, was torn down this week. In that case, the residence was said to be ripe for razing, as the home had fallen on hard times due to "disuse and decay," per Chron.com.

Is this property sacred or something?
lol.
It may well be the richest neighborhood on the planet. And eventually every house gets put into a dumpster.
A lot of these custom made mansions are hard to sell. Micheal Jordan’s mansion in Illinois has been on the market for years.
Please provide proof that he favored Rubio over Trump. Because Rush normally did not publicize his views during primaries.
It does amaze me sometimes how people have so much money — and I’m not talking about multimillionaires, but maybe upper middle class — that they can buy a lovely home but feel the need to completely renovate it. In my family, we buy a house to live in as designed and are happy that we can afford a house.
The palm tree threw me off.
I don’t think it survived long term.
How can you dance with square feet?
Exactly where does Rush endorse Rubio? I could not find it. Was he positive towards Rubio? Sure. But it is a stretch to take that as an endorsement in a primary.
Spot on.
In Palm Beach, you buy the location, not the house.
I can understand why it was the case in Europe, where you had to quickly replace all the buildings and housing lost due to the war, but why here?
This site has had a number of threads about global trends in architecture, and why they seem to be converging.

Elites choose building designs and architectural styles. The design choices represent what is aspirational for those elites.
When you have public buildings which are huge, ugly and demoralizing, it reflects, in my view, the aspirational agenda of the elites to reduce the populations they rule to insignificant scale compared to elite created monstrous inhuman structures.
Hitler's vision of "Germania" (Berlin) after the Nazis won the war.
Just sad… I miss Rush Limbaugh SO much. 😢
Clay and Buck have been an AWFUL “replacement” for Rush, in my opinion.
Yeah, not a primary endorsement, (did Rush endorse anybody for the 2016 primary?)....just posted that to indicate that Rush didn’t think Rubio was some “Deep State Actor”/”RINO-Establishment” or something.
I doubt it, because he normally stayed out of the primary stuff.
