Hey. It’s his property. Let him do with it what he will.
Bought a $160 million LOT. Wow.
I guess this won’t turn into a historical property others can visit like say Mt. Vernon.
That’s too bad. This is a disgusting trend. It’s also very common in Los Angeles where truly classic older houses are razed for these modern architectural monstrosities. Obama did it to the house Magnum PI was filmed at all those years.
But, but... what about the sea tortoises and the lights? Has the new owner filed an environmental impact statement for both the razing and subsequent construction?
Inquiring minds want to know!
A reminder that everything here is temporary.
The same fate happened to Ray Bradbury’s house, though his was much more modest. America is being erased and replaced.
.
idiot could have turned it into a museum and earned bank for eternity on it.
Oh well.
William Lauder’s Uncle Ron was the Austrian Ambassador that issued Jeffrey Epstein an Austrian Passport under an assumed name. I’m guessing Rush wouldn’t be too happy about his former home site falling into that family’s hands.
Sacred Grounds! No building allowed!
Communists seek to erase history.
My parents had a lakefront “estate” in Vermont. There were six homes on their street.
Since 2010, they have all been demolished or completely gutted.
When you pay that much, it isn’t for a 100 year old home. It’s for the view.
This happens every day, all over the world.
I miss Rushbo. Heard “My City Was Gone” today on xm classic rewind. When the song started (Rush’s bumper music) I had a flashback.
I assume this is an Estee Lauder son?
I’ve been on this property a few times. While it was functional for Rush, it is oddly laid out for most anyone else.
I can see tearing it down, I can’t see paying $155M for it in the first place.
The biggest problem w/ this property (and why it was never worth $155M) is its location. It is near the northern tip of Palm Beach (within view of Singer Island), and in the season it’s a bitch to get anywhere from there.
Lauder’s gonna get in big trouble w/ the West Palm turtle nazis.
In the fwiw department, Derek Jeter’s manse on Davis Island is toast too.
Oh well... what’s 22 million here or there?
5.56mm
Rush doesn’t care. Neither do I.
