The Boy Scouts of America believed more than 7,800 of its former leaders were involved in sexually abusing children over the course of 72 years, according to newly exposed court testimony – about 2,800 more leaders than previously known publicly.
The Boy Scouts identified more than 12,000 alleged victims in that time period, from 1944 through 2016, according to the testimony, which was publicized Tuesday by attorney Jeff Anderson, who specializes in representing sexual abuse victims.

In a lot of ways, the organization crafted the tools of its own destruction. The higher ups sought out mega-corporation sponsorships and board-of-director seats from woke CEOs for years before the decision was made to sodomize it. I remember the CEO of AT&T, a horribly compromised company morally, was a major player in getting the change made. Form Texas A&M president and Trump appointee Robert Gates also greased the skids of the BSA on the slide into perdition.
It all came down to a love of money, the root of all evil.

I was dismayed to find out that Trail Life is softer on homosexuality than the BSA formerly was. Trail Life employs a "don't ask, don't tell" policy, while the former BSA banned any boys/leaders discovered with same-sex attraction. TL leaders say scouts who are gay will be allowed in, as long as they don't promote or engage in any sexual behavior that is a distraction to the program.
That amounts to a poison pill.

I dunno who you talked to, but I’ve been involved with a Troop as part of having my girls in the sister organization that meets at the same place and time, and what you relate is NOTHING along the lines of anything anyone has ever uttered in the decade I’ve been there.
The organization is HIGHLY God-centered.

That aside, as these are kids, and the focus is on various scouting activities — not whims about human sexuality — how’s admitting some kid who thinks he’s a poofter any different than admitting some other kid who’s just a little too hot for girls?? How’s that any different than letting gays or any otherwise debauched person come to church on Sunday morning? Isn’t that actually integral to the entire mission??
So long as they don’t show up to the meetings advertising their proclivities, and keep it all in their heads, it’s a non-issue either way. And — UNLIKE BSA — there’s no BS DIE badge in Trail Life; nor any DIE-related activity required to attain the highest honor the org bestows.
