Grandma Joanne Segovia accused of running fentanyl ring is all smiles at Little League game despite potential 20-year sentence

The “Breaking Bad” grandma accused of running an international drug ring out of her California home is living life “as if nothing has happened,” and doesn’t even have an ankle monitor, pictures taken by The Post show.

Joanne Segovia, 64, has been out on bail since charged with allegedly leading a double life dealing drugs, including deadly fentanyl, while working as the executive director for the San Jose Police Officers’ Association in March.

Despite facing up to 20 years in prison, Segovia can be seen smiling and cheering at a park where she watched her grandson’s Little League game over the weekend.

Segovia and her husband, Dom, still live in the same quiet gated community in San Jose which federal prosecutors claim was the base of her drug shipping operation, while she awaits the case going to trial.

According to federal investigators, Segovia — who was often referred to as the “grandma of the Police Officers Association”— used her home computer and her computer at the police union office to pay for shipments of controlled substances, including the sedative Zolpidem, painkillers Tapentadol and Tramadol and heavier substances.

According to the 13-page complaint, the 64-year-old allegedly received at least 61 packages at her San Jose home from various countries — including China, Canada and India — between October 2015 and January 2023.

Traffickers? Yes! The users don't need it...the fentanyl takes care of that.

Sadly, that is true. Traffickers...those people should be put down.

I am not releasing users from the consequences of their own deaths at all. They share responsibility.

But Traffickers play a specific role.

Every once in a while something happens which brightly limns the contradictions of conservative thought: a few threads up from this one is one about three police officers watching a druggy drowm over a fifteen minute period. ALL the comments supported the police for good reasons, most said the druggy made a bad choice.

Yet here on this thread most of the comments are about doing violence to drug dealers... Who sell drugs to people who, in the above thread, have no value to society... Let'em drown.

So apparently there are two points to be made here; Drug dealers are good for society because they kill off unworthy parts of society, and two, once the druggies killed off, there sun be no more drug dealers. I merely make this observation because of the juxtaposition of the two treads.

Please do not juxtapose two treads.

You’ll throw a track.

ALL the comments supported the police for good reasons, most said the druggy made a bad choice.

I gathered on that thread that the general consensus was that the cops should not jump into a vine-filled river and risk getting tangled and drowning without the proper rescue equipment. I didn’t think people were in any way glad that the kid drowned.

I suppose maybe some did. But not most or all.

The debate was about whether cops were negligent on not entering the water. Which, without being there, is worthy of debate.

Fentanyl traffickers may as well be associated with assisted suicide and should be punished accordingly.

I don’t necessarily see a contradiction.

Drugs are pretty much legal along the West Coast. This wouldn’t even be news if it wasn’t a White 64 year old woman. It started with special treatment for people of color, until lawyers realized that the prosecutors could be forced to give Whites the same breaks. It wasn’t long until there was no rule of law.
