Trump did screw that up. He could have been more foreful for his picks. And then just kept an appointing interim heads. Each one more radical than the last until Trump’s pick is approved.
We need to be honest about this and tell Trump he screwed up on his picks and give him ways to WIN not just make excuses.

Cleaning up the corruption won’t be an issue if DeSantis somehow gets elected. Deep State is perfectly okay with him since he will pander to the party establishment.

I would suggest there may not be a single member from Trump’s cabinet who would not have been a top pick for Ron DeSantis if HE had been elected President in 2016.
The only exception might have been Dr. Ben Carson. I suspect DeSantis would fill that top HUD post with a tiresome, useless GOP political hack.

We need to be honest with ourselves and accept that no amount of forceful could make Mitch confirm anyone he didn’t approve of. Trump had no leverage because for 4 years the Senate did not recess specifically so Trump could not make a recess appointment. Trump finally tried to get people into spots with interim heads or by having the subordinate people take on responsibilities, Then they sued him.
The Senate worked against him all the way

You do know that Mitch McConnell blocked Trump from making any recess appointments, don't you? McConnell deliberately refused to formally recess Congress for that express reason.
