I think it’s more than that. The money is nothing. The more onerous standard for many professionals to meet is the continuing education requirements.
I suspect the guy was too lazy or dysfunctional to sit through the minimum course load for those continuing ed requirements.

The CPE requirements needed to be met for the DC bar. Most likely the same courses meet both requirements.

It is worse than that, he hasn’t contributed the fund he needs to be helped with this attorney fraud.
