A late friend of mine worked as an EMT in New Orleans. He once mentioned driving through the areas of the city where you could see evidence of past female hair-pulling fights - by weaves laying in the streets (usually blown or wadded-up against the curbs or storm drain grates). He referred to them as "tumbleweaves".
