I feel it keenly when freepers don't research before they post. It lets down the side.

Context is king.
Polling before Trump even announced is irrelevant.
In 2015 Trump announced June 16th, by Aug 4th he was polling at 24% with Jeb at 13%
In 2023 DeSantis announced May 25th, in early August Trump is at 53.4% and DeSantis is at 15.6%
Trump is polling much stronger than in 2015. DeSantis is trending down since March 15th.

May 25, 2023 DeSantis Announcement speech
Polls Aug
Trump 53.4%
DeSantis 15.6%
Ramaswamy 6.9%

Eliminating all other GOP candidates, Republican voters still showed overwhelming support for Trump in a hypothetical one-on-one matchup with DeSantis, with Trump earning 62 percent support compared to DeSantis’s 31 percent.

June 16, 2015 Donald Trump Announcement Speech in New York, NY.
Aug 4th Just days before the Republican presidential candidates square off in their first debate, Donald Trump is in the top spot among Republican primary voters nationally - 24 percent support him as the nominee. Trump is followed by Jeb Bush (13 percent), Scott Walker (10 percent), Mike Huckabee (eight percent), Ben Carson (six percent), Ted Cruz (six percent), and Marco Rubio (six percent). Further down are Rand Paul (4 percent) and Chris Christie (3 percent). Other contenders are below three percent. Nine percent of Republican primary voters say they don’t know who they want as the nominee at this point.

Agreed!

I did word that incorrectly. The base was there, the patriots, those who know the country is under siege. President Trump gave the movement a name. Much the same as Rush and the Dittoheads. He didn’t “program” anyone - he just gave voice to them.

“Bad timing and strategy.”

Not to mention the honor and character of a snake.

Ron jumped the gun. There was no reason to run in 2024.

After 2022, when Trump's hand-picked candidates in the crucial swing states that he needed to flip were soundly clobbered, there was an absolute reason to run.

Had these candidates persevered, it's likely everyone would've stepped aside.

But they didn't. They were nearly all defeated.

Now, the Democrats understand perfectly that all of these well-timed indictments work to rally Trump's base, better ensuring him the nomination. This is because Trump is the man they wants to run against.

The Democrats all believe 2024 will be a repeat of 2020. Trump supporters believe it will be a repeat of 2016. Unfortunately, seeing how Trump has been on an unbroken losing streak since 2018, I'm inclined to believe the Democrats will be the ones savoring victory.

“I firmly believe that winning the primary is not the overarching goal of the consultant, but to grift as much cash as they can”

That is the job of the political consultant.

Anyone who hires them should expect exactly that.

Don’t bet on unicorns when you hear hoofbeats.
DeSantis is a terrible candidate. He has no charisma, did not resonate with voters, started out with a lie immediately after winning the Governorship in Florida. It is very clear from the sequence of events that he used Fl as a stepping stone & never intended to serve his second term.
He did nothing of note in Congress and alienated the congressmen from Florida who have reported not hearing from him despite attempts to contact him until he sought them out for endorsements.

I do not think so poorly of the base as to imagine that they do not remember how DeSantis was rescued in his 1st Florida race by Trump, and how he won only against a weak opponent, whom he outspent 7x, in his 2nd Florida race.

The base watched DeSantis turn from a Trump booster to someone who sought to step aside and work against Trump by casting aspersions & standing aloof.

The base also is aware that Ron is underwritten, managed and supported by large GOP-e players as a method to destroy Trump with Trump lite. DeSantis gives a bit of red meat to the base by his conservative moralities stance. Many feel that this is a cynical exercise. DeSantis made a mess of the campaign rollout and has gone downhill since on his own merits. No need for conspiracy AI theories.

He began with no justification for his candidacy, other than being a less offensive version of trump.

And at the same time a far more conservative version of Trump who wins his elections, wins conservative battles, flips purple states red, spends his campaign cash on campaigning, not on lawyers and paying hush money to porn stars.

DeSantis is like Trump except he actually does the stuff he said he was going to do and doesn't do the stuff he never said he was going to do (like pass gun control by executive order and print $4 trillion in free money).

With Trump, you hope for the best. With DeSantis, you expect the best.

DeSantis is a terrible candidate. He has no charisma,

Kind of a sad statement on the State of politics in this country, that the one unforgivable sin of a candidate is not having charisma.

The best cheater wins in 2024.

The days of even semi-honest presidential elections is over.

Everything else is noise.

Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert’s victory in an automatic recount helped bring Trump’s overall win record to 199, while 34 of his preferred candidates lost their races, according to an analysis from the NBC News political unit.

Looking just at contests deemed competitive by the NBC News political unit, based on political dynamics of those races and ad spending, 46 of Trump’s candidates won, and 33 lost.

Trump found more success in House races than statewide contests — 164 won their races, while 11 lost.
In the battle for the Senate, eight candidates with Trump’s endorsement lost their races, while 16 won. High-profile losses included battleground states that were key to Republicans’ effort to flip the Senate, including Herschel Walker’s loss in Georgia, Blake Masters’ loss in Arizona, Adam Laxalt’s loss in Nevada and Mehmet Oz’s loss in Pennsylvania.

Trump-backed candidates saw an even split in governor’s races, with 10 wins and 10 losses.

I wonder how the DeSantis camp would have felt if they had been hit with lies around Russian whores peeing a bed - - for Ron to watch? With the corrupt filth in American ‘intelligence’ backing the lies?

Then hit with lies about working with Russians?

Then hit with lies and leaks from top ‘intelligence’ thugs in the US? With their press butt-boys only too happy to carry water for them...

Then those same thugs were ‘all to happy’ to work with and support Biden... While knowing Biden was taking bribes and ‘assisting the cartels’ with control over their drug runners and protecting their trafficking businesses.

Maybe DeSantis needs to understand he’s a good man but at this point in time he might not be tough enough to stand up to the monsters and criminals who run DC. Seriously Ron DeSantis - could you stand up to what was thrown at Trump? Ron - you have good ideas - and you’ve been a wonderful Governor - and you have much to offer in four years.. For now? Expose the truth about democrats and support Trump.

The best cheater wins in 2024.We’ll, better get to cheating then!

If 2020 was stolen, it’s because Trump left the garage door open and went on vacation with his stupid CARES Act.

Another thing that desantis supporters/nevertrumpers refuse to acknowledge, is

Trump is running like an incumbent president.

Many people saw the fraud and election manipulation that occurred in 2020, and know biden may have won by votes, but could not by actual voters.

So they are supporting a known factor, rather imitations or wannabes

You don’t get to cherry pick.
I defined the context and said that based on the factors outlined there is no need to postulate AI interference in DeSantis performance this cycle.

That is what I said, all I said and it is not acceptable to pretend otherwise. There are many other situations impossible to account for without AI interference, such as 2020 election results where AI interference was not the only method of fraud utilized.

desantis is not going anywhere

i believe part of the reason he jumped in was cuz Trump would be inundated by indictments and knocked out of the race

and he would be there to take the mantle
