Sage advice. But, will he listen? Probably not—the lure of the presidency is potent stuff.
Tragic. He let his ambitions get in the way of doing the right thing for the country at this crucial moment in our history.
I listed so many other factors. I listed charisma first because I think it is a marked flaw of DeSantis’.
Lack of charisma has always been a strong factor in electability. It’s not sad; it just is. Voters need to trust a candidate to vote for them. Obama benefitted by charisma. People voted for him against their own interests (coal workers) because he sold himself as transformational. It was sobering that so many people ignored what he said and acted emotionally to their own & the County’s loss.
Simply put if a candidate doesn’t resonate with the voters, can’t make a connection with them, doesn’t seem to have an inwardly driven plan but is perceived as inauthentic & driven by a desire to say what people want to hear they are at a disadvantage.

The "can't lose" races that like endorsed like Marco Rubio or Chuck Grassley. Didn't matter.
It were these crucial swing state races in the states that Trump won in 2016 but lost in 2020 that mattered. Thanks to Trump's horrible picks, nearly all of these states now have Democrat governors and state secretaries, except Georgia where Trump endorsed Kemp's Democrat opponent.
Then you beclown yourself.
Coming from the clown himself, that’s downright amusing.
You write the story that is your life. A person that is content to deal in cheap shots and uses logical fallacies to pretend victory will soon be ignored.
Trump endorsed not picked. It is up to the States having candidates that can win otherwise endorsing the best of a bad lot & putting a good face on it is all that can be done. Several of those states did not have viable candidates. PA was particularly grim that cycle.
It is beginning to sound more and more plausible that Trump has been right — Desantis would never have won without him.
McCormick would've likely won. Instead, we got Mehmet Oz, who had he won, would've immediately disavowed Trump and joined the Mitt Romney/Lisa Murkowski Wing of the GOP Senate.
But, as well all know, Oz lost to Shrek (the only defeated Trump pick that surprised me, to be honest).
I think he should suspend and restart in a year when he will be needed.
Lol. He does that easily on his own.
That’s true. I laugh when people say he lost money as president. Are they nutz? He made 400 million playing on Twitter all day. And still getting money out of social security checks for legal fees that the January 6th supporters didn’t get. Isn’t that rich?
Surprised me too. I was not sold on OZ, at all but his opponent victory is a mystery.
This may be part of the story on why Trump didn’t support mcCormick. It is unfortunate that Trump & McCormick were unable to mend fences.

DeSantis is discovering being in the ‘arena’ is different than sitting in the cheap seats watching and critiquing...
Trump went through that process too.
DeSantis can run for office - it’ll help him in ‘28. But he needs to understand what’s being done to Trump... and how that effects him.
First they came for powerless conservative citizens, but I was not a powerless conservative citizen so I did not speak out... Then they came for elected conservatives but I was not an elected conservative yet. So I did not speak up. Then they came for Trump and I felt he was powerful enough to stand up to them alone... Then they came for me and there was no one left to stand up for me...”
DeSantis needs to support Trump’s battle... because if they take down Trump they’ll take down the rest of us.
You get to choose if you want to comment using facts or spleen.
During the three years after Trump announced his presidential run in 2015, Forbes estimated his net worth declined 31% and his ranking fell 138 spots on the Forbes list of the wealthiest Americans. In its 2018 and 2019 billionaires rankings, Forbes estimated Trump’s net worth at $3.1 billion.

As of July 28, Forbes listed Trump’s net worth at $2.5 billion.
Trump had dropped a few steps down Forbes’ billionaire’s list ladder, placing 1268th in the world as of July 28, 2023, down from his previous 892nd ranking.
Prior to this dip, Trump’s wealth had rebounded after he lost roughly half of his net worth during his time in office as president as several organizations stopped doing business with him or any of his properties. Forbes listed him with a net worth of $4.5 billion in 2016 and $2.1 billion in 2020.
Much of his current wealth is tied up in New York real estate, which has struggled to regain ground after the COVID-19 pandemic sent people home to work remotely, according to Forbes.
You are so right.
Thanks Galt...
Dittos. I couldn’t have imagined he’d be so bad at this.
It didn’t “slip” away - it was thrown away.
