Former Vice President Mike Pence, a candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that former President Donald Trump and his lawyers asked him to “reject” the 2020 presidential vote.
Anchor Dana Bash said, “I’m sure you’ve heard the former president’s lawyers saying that he, quote, ultimately asked only that you pause in counting the electoral ballots. I want to be clear. Did the former president ask you to pause or did he at any point ask you to overturn the election and keep him as president?”
Pence said, “Well, you can look at the tweets and public statements that the president made, all the way up to the night before and the morning of. Look, what the president was convinced it seemed to me in December that I had some right to reject or return electoral votes, even though no vice president in American history had ever asserted that right. No vice president or any one president has ever had the right to choose the American president. The presidency belongs to the American people and the American people alone.”
He added, “But, look, in the days before, the president was talking about us rejecting votes, then late in the process, his lawyers suggested that we return votes to the states, but frankly, the day before January 6th, if memory serves, they came back, his lawyers did, and said, we want you to reject votes outright. They were asking me to overturn the election. I had no right to overturn the election.

Judas Pence is forgetting that a lot of Senators were all tee’d up to vote FOR returning the electoral votes to the states in question.
Only the riot stopped that.
Which, at the time, caused me to realize that the other side had actually staged it.
I think those of us who went to MARCH on J6 were basically asking Pence to push the HOLD button, and send forensic experts into 6 states and check the ballot trail and VERIFY with independent voices that the TRUE count was. Seems that once in History, the COUNT was in doubt, and they took a couple or 3 months to CERTIFY the results. Tone it down, Pence, or go run your campaign withe the Democrats. YOU are done representing the Republican party grassroots.
Headline reads “Trump” told him. Read it again and it says he said Trumps “Lawyers” told him.
Mike Pence is a snake in the grass type or he’s stupid...either way he’s a jerk.
The Presidency belongs to 50 State Legislatures, and to 50 State Legislatures alone (yes, yes, I know about XXIII and Congress's 3 EV).
The "people" participate only to the extent that their own State Legislatures have devised a role for them.

Pence did exactly what he was supposed to do...read the electoral votes into the record.
CNN interviews mean nothing. I’m waiting for his switch testimony on the stand and cross examination.
That’s exactly what should have happened to a stolen election.

Pence is a spineless hypocrite TRAITOR, for all his purported being religious. He makes a mockery of anyone claiming to be religious. I wish he’d just go away and garner no bandwidth in the media. Crawl back under his rock.
