SANTA CRUZ — From an early age, Pasha Wrangell felt different. Societal expectations of boys, and many characteristics of masculinity, did not match how Wrangell felt inside.
Bullied and ostracized, Wrangell started repressing those feelings in middle school and kept them bottled up for a long time. That led to decades of sadness, isolation, and even a couple of suicide attempts. What gnawed at Wrangell was gender dysphoria, a condition widely acknowledged in the medical community, which causes severe distress to people whose sexual identity does not match their sex assigned at birth.

if it’s free, they will come...
There’s an organized online community and various university and public outreach programs which are designed to convince people who are mentally ill and struggle with depression that all their problems would go away.
Those who take the bait are fed to medical malpractice artists who are experimenting with ways to make people’s genitals look and function differently. At first the Dr seems personally supportive and caring. But when the surgery is done and the problems begin, the doctor stops taking their calls and the patient is shocked to discover they were just a paycheck.
Nice try in the article, but cancer and diabetes are medical issues and gender dysphoria is a psychological issue which is best treated with therapy, which is also in extremely limited supply and hard to get:

Their sex was assigned about nine months before then. By the time they're born, it is a fact that cannot be changed, no matter who pretends what and no matter what chemical and surgical mutilations are performed.
One of the most basic truths we have is our sex...which IS our gender. Those who deny that basic truth have mental issues. The answer is not to assist them in mutilating their bodies and condemning them to live a delusion which will jot correct their mental disordrr...their underlying mental issues will magnify over time. They need counseling and God, Nottoway affirm the delusion but to treat the underlying issues and help them to accept and enjoy their gender.
This guy is an adult - I don’t care what he does to himself, none of my business. But if he wants my tax dollars to do it, then he makes it my business. Crap like this is why I’m a former Californian.
This is fatal flawed logic.
Just because a boy is more sensitive, or a girl is more tomboyish, that doesn’t mean they aren’t a boy or girl.
Its a moronic leap to believe that. The kids may need some extra support from adults if they are getting picked on, but otherwise, they’re just boys and girls.
Not everyone fits in well. There are people that have it rough growing up. That is insane to jump to a conclusion they aren’t in the “right” body.
His sex was not *assigned* at birth.
It was observed.

It is if you’re a normal white hetero male. We could have our balls cut off at any time we wanted at government expense. Just walk in and show ‘em our privilege card.
Isn’t it so sad that equality doesn’t reign everywhere? We obviously need a full tilt on the street mostly peacefully protest to fix this obvious inequity.
I’ll even write the street protest chant.
“1-2-3-4
I don’t want my frickin’ balls
1-2-3-4 pay for it
or I’ll burn you down”
