“You want to know how the West fights the Wagners? Last time all the Wagners were massacred - on Trump orders:”
You sound vaccinated.
“That bloodlust for empire is why the world is turning to Russia and China.”

Is this humor?
Russia is the one invading an colonizing everywhere.
China is enslaving africans and taking their natural resources.
Wagner takes the Gold.

Our nation is 12 times bankrupt. Headed to collapse. Pull all US troops out of Africa and bring them home for our borders.
Russia is “invading” Russia. The Ukraine (1991-2014) was only a failed nation state for 23 years. There’s many reasons why it didn’t exist before and won’t exist again.
Are they still the same ones who got kicked out of Mali and retreated to Niger? Or have they rotated since then? So sad. Y’all got kicked out of Burkina Faso, too. It’s downright embarrassing when the likes of Burkina Faso declares you PNG. :(
Once under American control, a massive construction project was begun on the north end of Tinian. Operating for over 45 days and nights, often while under fire, the Seabees initially repaired and extended the existing 4,380 foot runway and then added two runways, each 8,000 feet long and lying in an east-west direction. Nearly the entire northern end of the island was occupied by runways, the airfield area, and the various support facilities and containment areas.
Mali wasn’t an interest at all for France. France went there for a while to prevent Islamist groups to massacre non-Islamist Africans. The French generosity has no limits.
Then came the corruption with Wagner (paid by the Kremlin Swamp), paying insurgents there a lot of money to push back on France.
But is it going to be a “good” aggression?
Your defense minister seemed to think it was a security interest *for France* to run that counterterrorism op in Mali, or at least he publicly said so. The terrorist problem in the Sahel was fallout from the destruction of Libya, of course. The gift tyat keeps on giving.
Again, fomenting insurgencies in Libya (and Syria) and then bombing Libya into a failed state was beyond stupid. It was shooting ourselves in the foot. It proliferated terrorism. Some War on Terror, eh?
I get that you hate Russia and Russians, but you can’t blame your failures in Mali all on the Russians or Wagner:
https://warontherocks.com/2022/02/why-france-failed-in-mali/
But take heart: there are deep structural problems there that cannot be solved by military action alone, if they can be solved at all. Your hated Russians will meet a similar conclusion there. You’d be better off to do your cute Gallic shrug and say “been there, done that, got the T-shirt, now it’s there turn to have that fun” and be glad to be out of it.
Boy you sure like these endless foreign wars.
This could become a flashpoint for a war in sub-Saharan Africa. The coup in Niger could become another proxy war.
.
Americans built a huge base in Libya until they kicked us out. American built a huge base in Turkey and it is now of little use.
Americans built huge bases in Japan, the Philippines, etc.
We’ve got to keep our corporations busy.
Bkmk
You wonder how much arrogance it takes to stay in a country that obviously despises you.

African exploitation is what it’s all about. I don’t care whether it’s China, Russia, France, or the U.S. Think of what the money spent on that airfield could have accomplished if spent helping the native humanity with wells, shared agriculture technologies, etc. The military airfield is nothing but a means to project imperialist objedtives. We claim to be doing it to fight terrorism, but no amount of force will mature the local political dynamic. Jumpstarting these governments is a fool’s errand and a lesson we should have learned by now.
