Trump’s Florida Judge Orders DOJ To Unseal Documents, Justify DC Investigation
Daily Caller ^ | August 07, 2023 11:50 AM ET | JAMES LYNCH - INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER

U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, Aileen Cannon, issued an order Monday pressing the Department of Justice (DOJ) about its conduct in former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case.

Cannon ordered DOJ special counsel Jack Smith to unseal two filings and give a legal explanation as to why a Washington, D.C. grand jury is investigating matters related to the classified documents case.

“The Special Counsel states in conclusory terms that the supplement should be sealed from public view ‘to comport with grand jury secrecy,’ but the motion for leave and the supplement plainly fail to satisfy the burden of establishing a sufficient legal or factual basis to warrant sealing the motion and supplement,” Cannon’s order reads.

“Among other topics as raised in the Motion, the response shall address the legal propriety of using an out-of-district grand jury proceeding to continue to investigate and/or to seek post-indictment hearings on matters pertinent to the instant indicted matter in this district,” Cannon’s order adds.

Judge Cannon was responding to the special counsel’s motion for a “Garcia” hearing, where the special counsel addressed a potential conflict of interest caused by attorney Stanley Woodward representing defendant Walt Nauta and individuals who could be called to testify in the classified documents case.

Trump and Nauta are scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 10 for the classified documents case. Smith issued a superseding indictment July 27 with additional charges for Trump and new charges for Mar-a-Lago employee Carlos De Oliveira who allegedly moved boxes around Trump’s Florida estate.

Smith indicted Trump Tuesday for allegedly contesting the 2020 presidential election results and for his alleged role in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot. The former president pleaded not guilty at an arraignment in Washington, D.C. Thursday and accused Smith of “persecution” for his latest charges.

the battling judges. is like a living metaphor underlying the battle of helms deep... LOTR reference...
the dems must see a pathway to winning via judge shopping and a ringer or two in related federal and state courts... or they would not be pursuing this crap.

They are desperately trying to get the Trump supporters to abandon him.

Indictments galore.

Rumor is there are many more coming in the next few days/weeks.

This hack Smith is just getting started....................

In addition, Project 65 is working overtime to discourage any and all top tier attorneys from taking President Trump on as a client. Don’t let this salient point go ignored.

Obama expanded and stuffed the DC circuit. Now we know why.

Certainly, ... they'll get it done in about 99 years.

“They are desperately trying to get the Trump supporters to abandon him.”

Yes, but I’m also starting to believe they want a civil war even more.

...........Jack Smith could be and should be sanctioned for ALL of De Oliveira’s legal fees.

For those that do not know, an attorney CAN be “sanctioned” personally if the judge is so inclined. Such sanctions are rare as hens teeth around here but they do happen.

All of De Oliveira’s attorneys fees could put a dent in Mr. Smith’s wallet.

“Yes, but I’m also starting to believe they want a civil war even more.”

‘They’ will get more than ‘they’ want because ‘civil war’ will take the form of targeted incarcerations and executions. After a few thousand, the whole house of cards will come down.

......I once paid my attorney $10,000.00 in a divorce case. I “borrowed” the money from a friend out of anticipation that the judge would try to force me to pay my soon to be x $5,000.00 so she could pay her attorney.

The judge ordered THE ATTORNEY to pay the money when I said I didn’t have it. The ATTORNEY said he spent it!

The judge threatened to jail the attorney if he didn’t pay it. He called her bluff (he was an x Marine Major). The last thing I heard on it was years later and they were still fighting over it. I went to trial a year later and settled everything in my favor on a lunchbreak!

So, the judge COULD also throw Smith in jail if someone else paid his “sanction”. My guess is she wouldn’t. But, she COULD.

Most judges won’t go after the attorney personally.

They may want a job there later.................

interesting comment, do the dems/ds think they could win that war? I doubt it would be fought with f-16s, see “unintended consequences” by John Ross for a more likely scenario...

Out of curiosity, who would be fighting in the next civil war? What will be the sides?

depends.. whos side would the military take.

Don’t forget Obama and I assume Biden has been purging the military of right thinking brass.

the rank and file are likely to take the right side however.

My guess is there it will begin “National Emergency”. The government has been doing massive air surveillance for the last 4 months, over every inch of this Country in preparation for a global war, economic shutdown, another health emergency, etc. They will use this as an excuse to start confiscating guns from the MAGA supporters. It will be us vs the corrupt Federal Government. We have always been the target, not Trump.
