[A]nti-government discontent in Hong Kong in 2019 prompted China to impose a draconian national-security law on the territory to prevent further protests. Officials say this has helped: Hong Kong has achieved a “major transition from chaos to order”, they insist. But even after thousands of arrests and numerous trials, both under the new law and dredged-up statutes from the colonial era, the authorities are twitchy. Increasingly, they warn of “soft resistance” that could trigger fresh unrest. A new phase may be unfolding in Hong Kong’s war on dissent.

Mostly true. If you are arrested for one of the vague laws of “national security” you are assumed, by the government, to be guilty. If the courts find you not guilty then the government will complain that the judge doesn’t understand and is basically just stupid about the law. Then the government will file as many appeals as it needs to make sure they get the “correct” verdict. At least they don’t shoot you....yet.
Dang, at this rate Hong Kong will be no different than the US soon.

The CCP Virus Sculpture on fire. In Yermo California, set up in the open desert, is a place called Liberty Sculpture Park. It is dedicated to the Chinese protestors who were slaughtered on June 4th . An agent of the CCP set that sculpture on fire. It has since been rebuilt.
