Illinois Supreme Court upholds state’s assault weapons ban

The opinion was handed down in a lawsuit by a central Illinois lawmaker who argued that banning the sale of high-powered rifles and high-capacity magazines violates the state constitution.

Who'll likely uphold the IL State Supreme Court, so onward to the USSC where fatboy Prickster, Smarmy Raoul and Mayor Brandon all get slapped down 6-3 by the USSC's Bruen decision.

The IL. Federal Circuit Court is Majority Conservative.

It would be interesting to know how many people in IL. Own Guns. I doubt that any Assault Weapons have been Confiscated in the US outside of Red Flag Laws. There have been about 15,000 Confiscations.

Ok, so then they may overturn the IL State Supreme Court and this will still be appealed to the USSC because that's what fatboy Prickster, Smarmy Raoul and Mayor Brandon will do anyway.

So no matter how you slice it, this is going to the USSC, which will then uphold the Fed Circuit Court either through refusing to take the case up, letting the Fed Circuit Court's overturning the case stand, or take the case up (unlikely in this case.)

I'm really glad you brought this question up. I've no way ot knowing how many people own so-called "assault weapons" here in HELLINOIS. Almost without exception, everyone I know, does. Not a valid example I know, just sayin'.

From what I've read, there are some 7,000+ confiscations that are on the books for COOK COUNTY alone, that haven't happened due to lack of manpower.

Not surprisingly, the backlog of gun confiscations in COOK COUNTY is far and away the highest number in the state.
