Like some...and unlike others...I've been on it for months to control diabetes. I've had no problems with it and it's controlling my A1c nicely.Thankfully my insurance plan covers it with only a small co-pay because it's damn expensive. The “sticker price” for a 1 month supply is about $1,000.

My copay is $5 per month, no deductible to be met first. It keeps my A1C low, last check was 6.0. For me, I’ve lost 19 poumds in the last 18 month I did not need to lose.

For me weight loss is a negative side effect. There are times when I have to force myself to eat, just to keep my blood sugar up in the normal level. That must sound like a high class problem to people who are over weight, believe me, forcing oneself to eat, whether or not you’re hungry, is not a pleasent experience.
