People don't want to change their lifestyle however. They want to continue to be able to maintain their inactive state, eat all the fast food and pizza they want, while simultaneously losing weight.

This is why people are always chasing the ephemeral trends of pills and fad diets.

The real key to losing weight is exercising every day and limiting your diet to fresh foods in as much of their natural state as possible.

That requires discipline and is very difficult to sustain in the modern world, where you can't even go to a business meeting without an entire table laden with snacks and high calorie drinks.

Basically, I agree with you. However, some people had medical situstions, like being bedridden for months, that contributed to their situation. This isnt the Olympics, so Im ok with somebody using a bit of an aid in the process. As long as they are making the requisite changes, including exercising and diet.
