Russian President Vladimir Putin has submitted a draft law that would end the requirement for Russia to notify the Council of Europe when it declares or lifts martial law.

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, there has been speculation about whether Putin would put Russia on a full war footing, including a declaration of martial law and full mobilization.

Russia had to notify the Secretary General of Europe's 46-member human rights organization, as well as the United Nations, if it intended to declare a state of emergency, which would restrict the rights of its citizens.

Russia is always facing the “Specter of Martial Law.”

They had “Martial Law” for around seventy years.

No, it means they are shedding themselves of any legal obligations to cooperate with a hostile Europe.

I’ll take Putin’s martial law when compared to the current cesspool we are living in.

Zelensky has jailed his political rivals (including the runner-up of the presidential election), shut down independent media outlets, and used Ukraine’s state security agency, SBU, to go after those that refuse to fall in line. He has conveniently labeled his targets pro-Russia.

“Putin’s New Legislation Raises Specter of Martial Law in Russia”

Will Russia impose Martial Law before or after GERMANY outlaws its largest political party (AfD), since the ruling Coalition disagrees with them on several issues?

Or will it be before or after the American Regime manages to JAIL their strongest opposition candidate?

“No, it means they are shedding themselves of any legal obligations to cooperate with a hostile Europe.”

When Putin took over he found that the Western Neocons had REQUIRED Russia to get ‘permission’ from the West before doing a whole bunch of things that any independent country would NEVER have to ask permission to do.

While Putin got rid of most of that crap, this seems to be a vestige of them being, effectively, a colony of Europe.

Will citizens be censored by the media? Will protesters be sent to prison? Will Elections be fraudulent or suspended? Will they be forced to take coercive medication?

True, there’s not much difference from a modern Russian gulag and a US run one.

Even both nations are run by fraudulent leaders too.

Evil knows no bounds.

Or get a strange dose of polonium put in your coffee because you said what was on your mind about a nihilistic dictator wannabee running your old country.

That would never happen ;)

The only reason Putin isn’t is because he doesn’t have the power to do so.

We’re always going to have enemies no matter where we go in life this side of Eternity. And your real enemy isn’t flesh and blood, a lot of people forget that.

Nice comeback. Did you think that up all by yourself?

You folks are so silly and infantile with your slobbering love of Russia and bare chested Vlad.
