Election season is rapidly approaching. The first Republican debate is this week. The Iowa caucus is in January, and the New Hampshire primary is soon thereafter. With over a dozen declared candidates, the marathon placements are starting to take shape.
For now, don't lean too heavily on polls. First, we're too far out, and too much can happen. Second, we all know how we feel about polls. The poll showing our candidate doing well is Gospel. The poll showing our candidate faring poorly is Soros-funded dreck. As the polls change direction, so too change their designations. Rinse. Repeat.
But taking this into consideration, it is undeniable that, if all primary voting were held today, then Trump would win handily, DeSantis would come in a solid second, and both Ramaswamy and Scott will have garnered enough second-tier support to warrant vice presidential consideration. Unfortunately for whichever camp you fall into, the polling so far suggests that Trump can't lose the primary and can't win the general election.
But what should be a civil discussion among rational conservatives is turning personal and nasty — not just among candidates, but among their supporters as well. Trump-supporters are treating DeSantis-supporters like neocon sellouts, and DeSantis-supporters are treating Trump-supporters like cultish conspiracy theorists. Neither charge is merited, and the rabble-rousers on both sides would do well to cut the ad hominem attacks. Such are the tactics of leftists peddling the sexualization of children, not of principled Americans who reasonably disagree about the best path forward.

Imo the rinos are getting what they wanted. Anything to keep Trump out of the whitehouse.
At this point, the ONLY thing that will save the USA is a biblical annihilation, obliteration, extermination, destruction of Washington DC.

Exactly. Which is the point I’ve been trying to make here. Stop using leftist tactics against folks that are on our side against the radical left. To say it has fallen on deaf ears would be a vast understatement.
DeSantis’s people?
At the rate he is dropping in the polls, he doesn’t seem to have enough to even broker any deals. His in-person venues have only a few dozen showing up to listen. His calling voters ‘listless vessels’ lost him more support than it gained him.
His reinventing/reintroducing/remaking himself does not bode well, as it raises the question, ‘who is he, really?’

Everyone has valid reasons and at least on this forum, are well informed.
I'd prefer candidates talk about themselves and what they intend and ignore the media questions which only are posed to stir drama.
If Trump underperforms, the entire GOP will underperform. It’s that simple.

Why cannot President Trump change his residency to say, South Dakotah, and still make a Trump-DeSantis ticket for 2024!

Ron is my Governor and I voted for him but I do not support his campaign for President.
He needs to stand down and come home, its over and he has blown any chance he thought he had.

6 months ago l liked DeSantis a lot. His “campaign” has been a disaster. The slide began when he listened to the GOPe and waffled on Ukraine and it has just gotten worse. A week ago he said all the vote fraud theories were “disproven”, as if. Now he trashes MAGA voters just like a rat. Such a waste, he was great example of what a reliable conservative Governor can do and now he has shredded so much good will.
That is a lie, they just think he will be in jail, anybody who wants trump in jail is not a conservative voter
