The mid-19th century did not have Fantasy Football/NFL, movies and shows to stream, Amazon to deliver mass produced material goods that can be shipped overnight while delivered the next day, planes that can fly you to exotic destinations, females who can legally vote, as well as other amenities which the vast majority would gladly trade (Shoot, already have) their freedom for.

On the other end, either side in the Civil War did not have armed sophisticated drones overseen by the FDA (This would be a domestic dispute correct), radar planes, Apache helicopters, A-10 Thunderbolts II, electronic along with infrared surveillance/monitoring, advanced 21st century tactical weaponry, mass media on an instantaneous level relaying propaganda in real-time via multiple satellites 24/7, a huge central bureaucracy comprising of a vast intelligence network that will sniff out any serious threat of Civil War in an instant, a million other things. Basically, who can make war with the Beast (Because only one side has that tech/manpower?
