When I was going through Army AIT at Fort Leonard Wood in 1995, they had a bunch of Haitians there training to be police.
They wore surplus '70's-era BDUs and caps, and were escorted around by these folks who looked like middle-aged hippies.
Guess the training they had from 28 years ago didn't take.

During Haiti's revolution it is said that the leaders promised Satan control of the island if he granted them their liberty. Actually one line of my ancestry was there during the revolution. They hopped the first ship out and settled in Philadelphia. They were first rate silversmiths. One of their pieces is on display at Philadelphia Museum of Art.
