To: Right Wing Vegan

If it can be done cost effectively, carbon capture and carbon sequestration would be a great technology to deploy. Finding an industrial use and thus a legitimate market for captured carbon would be even better. It is a mistake for Republicans to oppose this reflexively. What’s wrong with it?

Pipeline safety? We have pipelines all over the place, carrying all manner of materials. They are a safe way to move stuff. We know how to do this. The occasional spill can be contained and fixed. And in this case, we’re talking about carbon that would otherwise be released as CO2.

The left opposes ethanol for the same reason the left opposes natural gas and coal. The left now wants an all electric future, provided the electricity is generated by wind, solar, unicorn farts and wishful thinking. Why should conservatives help sabotage alternative technologies?

Because this whole thing is spending hundreds of billions or trillions to “solve” a problem that DOES NOT EXIST !
