Good assignment? Worked with a controller in Berlin that was rated in Travis Tower. He said the runway configuration took a while getting used to. I’m also a little surprised that Travis still has a RAPCON. I would have thought that the FAA had gobbled it up.

That wouldn’t be Lt Gabe, would it? He was rated in the tower, and I know he went to Berlin from Travis. Yes, parallel runways, end to end, took a little getting used to. We used to try to arrange, to set two heavies down on parallel runways at the same time. It was a beautiful thing. It was even more majestic, to run F-15s at 1,600 feet, over top of the C-5s at 1,100. It was hairy.
