Its called passing the buck. The worthless Mayor is just transferring blame at taxpayers expense.

Don’t forget “Big Air Compressor” and “Big Tire Stores”.

... when China, Russia or the Muslims finally come in and take over this insane asylum, bad as they are, it will be an improvement!

China or Russia will be doing us a favor when they nuke all of our big cities. I hope they start with the swamp in DC even though I'm only 15 miles away.

I’m pretty sure that governments can file civil suits.
Now there are plenty of 3rd party car alarms — would that satisfy the mayor?

Help Keep A Good Kid From Going Bad” was how the PSA was framed.

I remember! One of those ads showed a bunch of kids taking off in a 1959 Chevy Impala "bubbletop" that had the keys left in the ignition. Seeing that Chevy get flipped when the kids ran a red light was cringy 🙄

I broke into a Yugo many years ago, and all it took was a screwdriver and ten seconds

Speaking of old GM cars, before GM put the ignition switches on the steering column in 1968 all it took to steal them was a paper clip to take the old switches apart making them easy to hot wire

Wow. I hot-wired my own ‘66 Dodge Dart, but I used a cheater cord and alligator clips.

The shift over the years is notable, even among so-called “conservatives”. They seem to think if someone leaves anything of value in their car, even an old stale french fry under the seat, why, IT’S YOUR FAULT if it gets stolen.

My wife's Dutch relatives seemed to think it was grand that Brockville, Ontario made it an offense to keep your car unlocked. I took an umbrage and pointed out that some of my cars no longer have all functional locks.

The new attitude is reflected in new car designs that also undermine my typical approach. If I had vauables. I would put them in the trunk, and lock the trunk. If someone was determined to break into my car, I left it unlocked so they wouldn't break windows along the way. Now, even sedans have a no-key-required hood release in the front dash, so it is now impossible on most models to lock your trunk and keep it secure while the cabin remains unlocked.
