I retired here in CT despite all of our issues.

One reason was that I did not like the trend in the standard “go to” retirement states.

I did not see most of the Republicans in those states ready or willing to take on the fight against evil for the long term.

In the case of Texas (which we looked at very carefully) it looked like border security and illegal alien invasion were not being fought successfully—which would ultimately leading to a “minority white” state and very high property taxes.

I’m looking at Boston’s North End, Charlestown, and Gloucester. I can buy a comparable price house there and pay for less in property taxes. The restaurants and bars are cheaper too. I was shocked how clean and safe the subways were. There were far less homeless per capita, compared to Austin, San Antonio etc
