Judge orders default judgment, sanctions against Rudy Giuliani in election workers' lawsuit
CNBC ^ | August 30 2023 | Dan Mangan

A federal judge on Wednesday issued a default judgment against former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and imposed sanctions on him in a civil conspiracy lawsuit filed by two Georgia election workers he had claimed mishandled ballots in the 2020 presidential contest.

Judge Beryl Howell sanctioned Giuliani for failing to comply with demands for documents and other evidence sought in the case by lawyers for the election workers, Rudy Freeman and Wandrea' ArShaye Moss.

Howell also ordered attorneys for Giuliani and the two women to propose three possible dates for trial in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., on the question of how much monetary damages he should be ordered to pay them as a result of the default judgment.

The goal here is obvious...flip as many of DJT’s aides as possible. “Rudy,we can give you a misdemeanor and 6 months unsupervised probation or we can give you 5 years at Chattaoochie State Prison.

It may have to do with ad blocking.

t“Republican observers were cleared out of State Farm Arena due to a ‘water main break’, but 4 people stayed behind, rolled out suitcases of ballots, & continue to count ballots in private from around 1030PM until 1AM.”

That is how I remember the reporting.

I lost so much respect for Georgia. California, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Georgia are my most unsatisfying states.

Same here, that's definitely the news that was reported to me. Last I heard OAN hasn't issue a retraction or anything.

It's too bad they don't have end-to-end tapes of the counting, that would clear things right up.

LOL!

Notice the Usual FR Suspects rushing to the defense of Beryl Howell, Democrat Party operative. Makes one wonder if they themselves are DPOs.

Beryl Howell was literally on the spot at the birth of modern American vote fraud.

She clerked for Dickinson Debevoise as he created the monster.

I thought a case should normally be filed in the judicial district in which the defendant lives.

Since Georgia’s election officials can’t provide those tapes, one has to assume the election officials were dishonest.

Exactly what were the “requested documents”?

“Appointee doesn’t matter in this case…Any judge would do the same given this situation.”

****************

Really? She issued a whopping 57 page opinion and characterized Giulaini’s declarations as having turned “slippery”.

Now the judgement may be fair, but the judge’s excessively lengthy opinion (over a relatively simply matter) and use of a clearly disparaging term will rightly be construed by many as a gratuitous attack on Giuliani’s character. Basically these are unnecessary actions that call into question the judge’s potential bias.

I disagree with your contention that her actions are typical of any judge. Seriously, do you really believe that Obama would appoint anyone who does not harbor deep seated antipathy toward Republicans?

Judge orders default judgment, sanctions against Rudy Giuliani in election workers' lawsuit

Why is this even in a DC court? Shouldn't this be in a Georgia court? Was the offense committed in DC? I don't think so!

Yeah, that is super odd and proves fraud likely occurred. Then I did a little more searching and found it's not so much that they didn't provide the tapes. I guess they went through them frame by frame

So I am doing some additional research (I've done this before) but thus far the most obvious answer is that the tapes reviewed frame by frame were generated by an AI. No only does it make sense, it rhymes. A Deep Fake from the Deep State!

Except that's not what happened.

DC is a corrupt sewer, and I do not give a damn what lies they tell to fabricate their stupid, lying decisions.

I am of the opinion that these worthless judges should get beaten down with baseball bats. I am so sick of this double standard from these Nazi courts.

It is way past the time we started regarding judges as enemy combatants. They are garbage, and worse, they are arrogant garbage.

That is why “chain of custody” is so important. There was little of that in the five states (Penn., Wisc., Ga, Az and Mich.) in the 2020 election. Therefore, as far as I am concerned the 2020 election was stolen.

I regard all DC courts as corrupt. No case should ever be tried in DC again, except for the Supreme Court.

Asking because I really don’t know:

His lack of a dispute (regarding their claims)... can it be used against him in any criminal suits?

In Terry v. Ohio, 392 U.S. 1, 17–19, (1968), the Court wrote: “This Court has held in the past that a search which is reasonable at its inception may violate the Fourth Amendment by virtue of its intolerable intensity and scope.”

I think much the same could be said about discovery.
