Blake Masters to announce a second Senate run

Blake Masters could be very close to announcing a new Senate candidacy. According to three people familiar with his intentions, the Republican businessman plans to announce another bid for the Senate. This comes after his failed attempt in 2022 when he lost to Mark Kelly by a difference of 5 percentage points.

Masters debuted at the polls during the 2022 midterm elections, when he defeated Jim Lamon and Mark Brnovich in the primaries to try to unseat Kelly in the general election.

Despite being the frontrunner in the polls, particularly in the final weeks of the campaign, Masters fell short of his rival. He won 46.5% compared to 51.4% for the Democrat, who secured a full term.

According to this report, the 37-year-old Republican will make a new attempt to win a seat in the Senate. This time, his target would be Kyrsten Sinema, who has not yet confirmed her intentions. Rubén Gallego, the progressive democrat, has confirmed that he is running for Senate and claims that Sinema has abandoned her voters.

If it's a 3-way race, the Republican candidate should win. Sinema is deeply unpopular among Democrats in Arizona. She's far more popular among AZ Republicans but they won't vote for her over a Republican candidate.

The question now will be Blake Masters or Kari Lake?

I'll take Masters.

I’d like to see Masters take it. I certainly think he’ll beat out Lake.

Masters had his chance. Lake got closer to the governor’s office than Masters got to the US Senate. 17,000 vote gap vs 125,000. She got more total votes than Masters too.

I would rather see Kari Lake take it. She is a spectacular campaigner and has been like a pit bull on the election fraud. Much of what we now know about the 2022 election in Arizona has been because of her tenacity.

It would all have been covered up without a trace if she had given up.

It will be interesting to see how Masters and Lake end up attacking each other, since both ran as MAGA conservatives in 2022.

I'll be curious to see if Sinema won't flip to the GOP.

This might be the only shot she has to stay in the Senate, if she can survive the primary. And she might, if Masters and Lake nuke each other.

For the first time since I moved to Arizona, I do not have a dog in this fight.
I like Lake a lot BUT, say she does win the primary & the general.
Will the senate seat her? Probably not.

“Will the senate seat her? Probably not.“

The rats control the Governor, AG and SOS. When they stole all 3 in last fall they also rigged the voter ID prop. So they will make sure Lake loses in the general by whatever means necessary

Is Arizona a lost cause? Demographic shifts and the new election paradigm Republicans seem unwilling to participate in.

How can you not vote for someone named Blake Masters? It sounds like a badass cowboy character from the 70s.

Pointless if he can’t raise money. Will the base support him this time? Or will they just sit on their behinds, keep their wallets closed, and complain about where McConnell’s PAC money is going again?

She was the Guest Speaker at our last Tucson Republican Women luncheon. I hope she will run for Governor.
