All.these green weenies should be deported to Greenland and provided with wind turbines, solar panels, and electric vehicles to survive.

Because EVs suck and are inferior technologically! They are a fad at best.

The point is, within 5 years they will be affordable by the masses, perhaps cheaper than ICE vehicles to operate.

The other point is that the grid can barely et by now.

You might consult some website or map that says there is a charger at a given place.

Which tells you NOTHING about how many others are at that place; charging or waiting to.

Now when ALL electrics are required to broadcast their locations and battery status, perhaps some large program could shuffle all of these vehicles into a nicely organized que to maximize efficient charging.

It sounds to me like a lot more stay EV than go back.

Only if they are on their SECOND EV.

Do you think doing that was the economical way to go?

I do.

I blew a Jeep engine at around 100 K.

Getting it rebuilt was the equivalent of 5 months car payments.

There was nothing else wrong with the car.

I got around 130 K out of the rebuilt.

Why don’t they have battery started ones like my riding mower?

Pull starting is a female dog when it’s cold!

My gas honda accord sport had a 1/3rd tank of gas. I drove up to the gas station 3/4 mile away and filled up. I was back with 10 minutes to my place.
You cannot do that in any electric vehicle plus I have piece of mind that the car will not ignite on it’s own when driving or parked.

It’s not just power generation, either.

The step-down transformers in your neighborhood were designed to service 10-15 homes each. They can support a maximum of four EV chargers added to those houses. The dirty secret of EVs is the existing secondary distribution system will not handle many EVs. Imagine having to rebuild the entire secondary distribution system in the country.

I live on an acre.
The neighbor bought an EV riding
mower to the tune of $6,000.
It came with 6 batteries and two
chargers for three batteries each.
It takes 6 hours to charge one bank.
It takes 3 charged batteries to
mow his acre. He also mows more
frequently, hoping the grass
doesn’t get too tall or too wet
as that doubles his available
charged up power. I’ve seen him
take nearly 3 days to mow his
acre.
I love my 23 year old 18hp
rusty, dusty, craftsman LT2000.
I’m done mowing in an hour.
