Donald Trump would be found guilty by a jury over his alleged crimes surrounding the 2020 election if a trial was held today, according to a new poll.

An Emerson College survey of Washington, D.C., residents conducted between August 29 and September 2 found that 64 percent of respondents would find the former president guilty of purportedly trying to subvert the election results, while 28 percent would find him not guilty and 8 percent remain unsure.

Based on this alone, can one expect a fair trial in that venue?

One of the comments was jaw dropping:
"what trump did in public in front of everyone was enough to make him guilty, never mind what more the prosecutors have!"

I'd love to ask the guy in person: let me guess, he came down an escalator and announced his run for President?

Assuming its not a bot, makes me think if the balloons go up in this country, its going to be vicious.

Looks like the odds of a hung jury would be about 90%.

28 percent not guilty quite a surprising number for DC Biden’s “Green Economy” must really be settling in down there.

Wait, guilt is determined by popular vote? Here I thought it had to be a unanimous decision of 12 people.

Yes of course. 28 percent find him innocent. That’s more than I’d thought in DC. He has a good chance there by this poll. Of course he needs to prove it.

Trump gave so much for the American people. Except for the few of us who are good people, it was definitely not worth the sacrifice.
We are the modern day remnant and from our ranks will be the rebirth of America. God willing.

The remnant is a recurring theme throughout the Hebrew and Christian Bible.
Definition: What is left of a community after it undergoes a catastrophe.

We have a poll of uninformed voters! What further need is there for a trial? Burn him at the stake!

Federal prosecutors have a 99.6% conviction rate:

"Data published by the Pew Research Center in 2019 highlighted how federal prosecutors have a 99.6% conviction rate. To put those numbers in perspective, U.S. Attorneys filed 79,704 cases in 2018. Of those, only 320 resulted in acquittals."

A defendant enjoys a presumption of innocence in our legal system. When 2/3rds in a jurisdiction presume him guilty that conclusively shows that it is impossible for him to get a fair trial there and a change of venue should be granted.
