Oprah Winfrey and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson faced backlash on Tuesday after asking fans to donate money to help those affected by the Maui wildfires — despite having a combined net worth of more than $2.8 billion.
The Hollywood duo collectively kicked in $10 million to kickstart the People’s Fund of Maui, but then jointly asked their fans on Instagram and TikTok to donate the rest.
However, many fans complained they were already living “paycheck-to-paycheck,” and that the uber-rich celebrities should dole out more of their own money toward relief efforts. “I would but I’m broke…you two got this though!” fan, Carolina Moreno, wrote in the comment section on TikTok under the August 31 video.

I will say this about Oprah. The few times she was in movies, she did a helluva job. I was just blown away by her The Color Purple performance.

I doubt neither one donated squat.
They are only asking for donations so they don’t have to pay for the cleanup themselves when the start buying the properties.
She was booed rightly for bringing a cbs camera crew when she went to the town. This is part 2 from her ‘people’ to make her look good. She is using Dwayne as cover.
I met a woman who had a job that involved the installation of office equipment of some sort back when Oprah was on local TV in Baltimore. (Just looked it up— late 1970s through earl 1980s.)
The woman was working on something at the Baltimore TV station where Oprah worked and was squatting down on the floor next to a large cabinet of some sort with heavy doors.
Oprah came to the cabinet and flung open one of the doors which hit the squatting woman and knocked her over. Oprah then pulled the door back toward herself to see what she had hit. Most likely she had not seen the woman, but to the woman’s astonishment, Oprah never uttered a word to her much less an apology.
I read they both donated 10 million.
Like all Dems they are very generous with other peoples’ money.
Demonic Oprah was the first major recipient of ‘magic negro worship’ in which white suburban women went gaga over everything she did and they made oprah beyond reproach. Anything oprah says is correct and she can never be quetioned. It was the same ‘magic negro’ worship used by obama to usurp the white house. But oprah was first.
