NO, this isn't ok, and the local news media made hay over it being 8-10 people TOPS that were protesting the concert.
If people were burning Pride flags or BLM flags, they’d be arrested and charged with hate crimes, but burning the US flag is just fine.

Back in the day, 1979, Communist were getting up at what was called a "Death to the Klan" rally. It didn't end well for the Communist Workers' Party. 5 shot dead, several wounded.

In any event, arrests were made but no one was convicted of the deaths. There was a civil suite against the Greensboro police that was won. The payout was $400,000. They may not have exhibited enough gusto to stop it.
