The student had told a court that he had been left traumatised by Whitehurst claiming she loved him and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him.
She reportedly gave him a bible at age 17 and would take him to church on weekends.
Whitehurst was jailed just two months after giving birth to the baby girl and served six months of a year-long sentence after a plea deal.
Michael Cooper, now 23, approached news media to share a story of his junior year in high school, in 2007. Though he said he did not feel victimized, Cooper hoped his account would encourage other potential victims to come forward.
Cooper said he had a physical relationship with Laura Elizabeth Whitehurst, pictured in a 2013 yearbook photo below, who herself was 23 at the time of the affair he described.
"I didn't feel like a victim; I'm not scarred for life or anything,” Cooper told NBC4. “To be honest, I had a good time when it was going on."
Whitehurst is accused of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, and authorities said Tuesday that she gave birth last month to a baby fathered by the alleged victim. A teacher at Citrus Valley High School in Redlands, Whitehurst was arrested Monday, Redlands police said Tuesday.
