'You're going to end up stone cold dead at the border.'
Florida’s Governor says the United States has every right to execute people crossing the Mexican border if they seem to be members of “drug cartels.”
During a recent “tele-town hall” with supporters, Gov. Ron DeSantis said the American government is “entitled” to take such action.
“Some of the things that we’ve already highlighted as part of our agenda, our border policy, I’m the only one that’s willing to send the military to the border and to use deadly force against the Mexican drug cartels,” DeSantis said. “We’re entitled to do it. They’re killing tens of thousands of our fellow Americans.”
“And so our message for the Mexican cartels is if you break into our country and you try to run drugs when I’m President, it would be the last thing you do because you’re going to end up stone cold dead at the border.” DeSantis added.
The Governor has vowed to render certain border crossers “stone cold dead” already in the 2024 cycle, including during a June town hall in Hollis, New Hampshire.
“If these cartels are breaking into a wall and cutting a piece out of the wall and moving product in, that’s going to be the last thing that those people have ever done because they’re going to end up stone-cold dead,” DeSantis said to applause.
He made the same threat in Texas the same month.
“If somebody were breaking into your house to do something bad, you would respond with force. Yet why don’t we do that at the Southern border? So if the cartels are cutting through the border wall, trying to run product into this country, they’re going to end up stone-cold dead as a result of that bad decision,” DeSantis declared.
DeSantis has also suggested drone strikes may be an appropriate cross-border response to illegal crossers from Mexico.
“We will absolutely reserve the right if they’re invading our country and killing our people,” DeSantis said earlier this month in Iowa.
DeSantis has an aggressive immigration agenda that includes completing the border wall, sending U.S. troops into Mexico to combat cartels, and ending birthright citizenship — the guarantee that those physically born in the United States are granted citizenship, regardless of whether their parents are U.S. citizens.
How about shooting the invaders regardless of their suspected affiliations.

Solid Governor though, and has a bright future path as FEMA Director.
Weird phrasing/jargon aside, he’s not wrong. He is basically daring the moderates to get tougher about the border.
Should shoot all illegals as soon as they step on USA soil.

Of all the candidates, and the only veteran running for president, he’s clearly set on a military solution to secure our border and protect Americans. Long overdue.
That's pretty much standard practice anywhere else in the world. The Border Patrol needs to borrow a couple of AC-130 Gunships and let them make a few passes. That will stop the invasion in less than an hour.

Ron last ditch effort throwing mud at the wall and hoping it sticks.
First, if they are crossing the border illegally, they’re not innocent. Second, this isn’t last ditch effort by DeSantis as he has long advocated military action to secure and protect the border. Do you prefer the current open border? Or a wall that Mexico will pay for but didn’t get build, nor get paid for by Mexico. Good luck waiting for that.
Maybe the "suspects" shouldn't be there in the first place? If they have an MS13 tattoo I'd say they are a rich target.
It would have been better if he supported Trump and his wall.
These rino politicians are talking tough about gunning people down at the border. All I want are The Trump policies back in place which made in much, much harder for illegal immigration. Putting those policies back in place that worked so well should be the argument that republicans are making not all this Rambo mumbo jumbo.

We should have been doing that all along. We are undergoing the largest land invasion in the history of the world, and little is said about it and even less is done about it.

These cartel dudes are already cruising around every neighborhood in Texas and own a lot of cops, not to mention all the drug trade and a huge human trafficking operation.

That might be your position, but it’s not Greg Abbott’s position. The guy has let 7 million people into our country that we don’t want. A select few might want them but the vast majority we don’t want them. But Greg Abbott a Republican governor has let 7 million people into this country. I still think watch towers every two miles along the boarder with a Marine sniper in each with ROE of “shoot to wound” would do wonders. Those who are wounded would have a 3” “I” (Illegal) tattooed on their forehead. If a sniper sees an illegal with an “I” on the face, the ROE change to “shoot”. My guess is a couple of weeks of this and the flow would all but stop.
