I hope he doesn't pay out a single red cent. I second the motion.
I admit that I know very little about this case, but it sounds like Alex made some speculative comments (once) when the event occurred. And years later the lawyers go after him, and when they finally brought the case to court, Alex and his lawyers weren't allowed to provide a defense.
Pure lawfare to try to shut Alex up - and having nothing to do with the parents who will never see a penny.

This is the problem with outrages awards. Winning in court is only the first hurdle. A more reasonable award, such as 40 million would have some chance of being paid.
