Days after calling TikTok “digital fentanyl,” Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramasamy has joined the platform.
“I’m officially on TikTok, we’re going to be on here a lot,” said Ramaswamy in his inaugural video.
Just five days earlier, during a town hall in Okoboji, Iowa, Ramaswamy was singing a different tune. Describing the threat posed by China, which has been one of the key themes of his presidential campaign, Ramaswamy said, “This is Xi Jinping’s bet — you’re addicted to me.”
“You’re addicted to the fentanyl that I’m pumping across their southern border. You’re addicted to the digital fentanyl that I’m putting in your kids’ hands,” Ramaswamy exclaimed to a restaurant filled with Iowans.
Ramaswamy says he was convinced to join the China-owned social media platform by YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, who persuaded the candidate that he needed to be on TikTok to appeal to young voters.

NYT is gospel now I see.
You failed to debunk.
Vivek is an interesting and very smart guy - but not when it comes to politics. I’d probably invest in his startup, but vote for him as president? Nope. Not yet, anyway - 2028 might be a very different story.
“ he wants to deny the vote by raising the voting age to 25. ”
Continuing to repeat a lie will not make it true. He never said deny. He said 18-25 would have to *qualify* to vote by clearing the same civics test required of immigrants, or by volunteering for some national service.
You either have the right to vote at 18 or you do not. Putting conditions on it is the same as you do not. Or, using the words of the second amendment, it is infringing.
This is no more a flip flop than Rush Limbaugh who was initially very critical of social media relenting and agreeing to join Facebook and Twitter because that’s where his listeners and potential listeners were. Got to face reality. Today it’s Tick Tock or whatever it is.
“ You either have the right to vote at 18 or you do not.”
That’s the current law. It’s not set in stone. Laws can be changed and he wants to change it.

I don’t understand the controversy.
He either has no political experience or he is hiding elective office that no one has yet discovered.
There is no other issue. Why are people talking about other things associated with this guy.
He has no political experience. That makes him the only qualified candidate among the also-rans. He’s not part of the Swamp. A political career says you are.
End of debate. There’s nothing else to discuss. Now if you can find his having served as a Senator or Governor or Representative, then that should be revealed. Otherwise, these are irrelevant issues.
The problem you have is Rush is dead and flip-flop Ramaswamy wants to be president.
If you can't drink or smoke until you're 21, then you shouldn't vote or join the army until you're 21.
Otherwise, lower the drinking age to 18.
Vivek Says He’s Considering Pardoning Hunter Biden, Other Biden Family Members

Vivek Ramaswamy left Republican voters scratching their heads after he said in an interview that he wants to evaluate giving pardons to members of the Biden family if he’s elected president.
That stood in contrast to recent calls by Ramaswamy for a special counsel to criminally investigate the Biden family for its business dealings and alleged influence peddling.
“After the I am leading the great revival. After we have shut down the FBI, after we have refurbished the Department of Justice, after we have systemically pardoned anyone who was a victim of a political motivated persecution — from Donald Trump and peaceful January 6 protests — then would I would be open to evaluating pardons for members of the Biden family in the interest of moving the nation forward,” the 38-year-old biotech millionaire told The Post.
“It is a broad theme of this candidacy, leading us to a national renewal rather than a national divorce. It’s part of a broader vision of an American revitalization,” he added.

Ah but the swamp does not want a non-swamp candidate to threaten their golden goose. I am sure you noticed during the first debate ALL SWAMP candidates zeroed in on Ramaswamy. He is a rank outsider and does not know the secret handshake.
Law? It is in the constitution! 26th Amendment: “The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age.”
The 26th amendment is not going to be repealed.
Yes, theoretically it can be repealed , but realistically it is not going to happen.
Ramaswampy is not a natural born Citizen. He doesn’t qualify for Article 2 Section 1. He’s an anchor baby born to two foreign nationals who weren’t naturalized US Citizens at the time of his birth.
From John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to George Washington when framing the presidential qualification clause:

Dear Sir
I was this morning honored with your Excellency’s Favor of the 22d Inst: & immediately delivered the Letter it enclosed to Commodore Jones, who being detained by Business, did not go in the french Packet, which sailed Yesterday.
Permit me to hint, whether it would not be wise & seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government, and to declare expressly that the Command in chief of the american army shall not be given to, nor devolved on, any but a natural born Citizen.
Mrs Jay is obliged by your attention, and assures You of her perfect Esteem & Regard—with similar Sentiments the most cordial and sincere I remain Dear Sir Your faithful Friend & Servt
I agree, all should be reset to 18. I got to drink at 18, joined the Navy at 19, went to bootcamp in California and could no longer drink off-base because i wasn’t 21. I have always, even now at 63 objected to limited rights of citizens beyond 18. If you are an adult, can be drafted or join the military, can sign contracts, can vote, then you should enjoy full benefits of citizenship.
>> He said 18-25 would have to *qualify* to vote by clearing the same civics test required of immigrants, or by volunteering for some national service.
I’m not a Hinduswarthy fan AT ALL, but that’s actually not a bad idea. Would take a constitutional amendment to pull it off however. Wonder if Swami Ramadamadingdong realizes that?
I have disagreed with you at times in the past, but you are right on the mark with your post.
