Elissa Slotkin Votes to Ban Gas-Powered Vehicles During UAW Strike
Breitbart ^ | 09/15/2023 | Sean Moran

Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), who is running for U.S. Senate, voted against legislation that would bar states from capping the sale of gas-fueled cars; one of the main drivers of the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike is President Joe Biden’s move to push electric vehicles over gas-powered engines.

The House voted on bipartisan lines to pass the Preserving Choice in Vehicles Purchases Act, which would amend federal law to block state moves to eliminate the sale of gas-powered engines and it would bar the Environmental Protection Act (EPA) from issuing waivers that would ban such of these vehicles.

EV MFGs need 30% fewer workers because of no ICE. The German Government was all gun ho for EV’s until they realized that 225,000 workers would be extra and on the street. Actions have consequences…..,

We need a constitutional amendment to keep the government from regulating the economy.

A perfect argument for repealing the 17th Amendment. The Founding Fathers had no idea that The Great Compromise would evolve into a situation where many the state’s reps would represent a political commie uniparty rather than individual states, and Slutkin is definitely on the commie side. I’ve heard a couple of decent names tossed about on the GOPe side, we shall see.

Detroit management has bet heavily on the EV market, making a "me too" alternative to Tesla. The UAW wants a 40% increase in wages with a shorter work week, which translates to a 75% increase in the cost of labor per vehicle. Labor and Management worked together in the '70's and '80's to reduce the Detroit portion of the American car market from 90% + to where it is today.

If GM and Ford disappeared as brand names, would anybody really miss them? And Stellanis - at some point, the news reporters might feel they can stop explaining what Stellanis is and what it does. In the meantime, Stellanis sounds like a new expensive medication with TV commercials.

Why? Everyone who's buying an EV is buying a Tesla.

I believe the actual figure is 40% fewer needed but we are talking about the UAW here so 30% is probably a better number in reality.

THIS is one of the major, if not the most important, reason that so many domestic manufacturers are all-in on EV’s.

Government loans and subsidies for the climate gods and fewer workers needed = $$$$

see 14 and follow the money..... fewer workers needed and more streamlined supply chain with no unions (or environmental regulations) from China for batteries.

Volkswagen AG is cutting temporary workers at its main electric-vehicle factory in Germany because of waning orders for its EVs in Europe.

The manufacturer plans to let go nearly 300 people at the Zwickau plant when their contracts expire in October, according to people familiar with the matter. The fate of around 2,000 additional temporary staff remains uncertain, the people said, declining to be named because a final decision hasn’t been made yet.

One of the wave of 2018 “ex” CIA officers who all simultaneously ran for office as Democrats. They follow The Agenda without question.
