West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin has floated a proposal to reverse changes to the Senate dress code that permit members of the upper chamber to dress as they please.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer confirmed this week that senators, but not their staffers or reporters, would no longer be subject to dress requirements. The move appeared to accommodate Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman, who prefers to dress in athletic shorts and a hoodie.

The Senate has lost the respect of the citizens.

Not sure what happened to my link.
they can do whatever they want
but please please please
keep the no speedo rule
All republicans in the Senate should show up wearing an old dirty hoodie and nasty never washed gym shorts, cheap sneakers with no socks.
They can hang out on the floor of the Senate and see if prog media will put TV cameras on them.
.
Pure theater, from the lockstep, fellow traveling DEMOCRAT who is pretending to be disaffected and "centrist".
Don't buy any of this, my good FRiends
Those commenters are too kind by a mile.
PA and the nation would not be shamed by this troglodyte throwback if not for the rampant theft in Filthadelphia.
(and that’s my polite opinion ;-)
What I find sick and amusing is that all the socially lower staff have to dress up, but the real trash in the Senate can dress like goobers.
Reminds me of all the low class hired help at Pelosi’s parties had to wear masks, but her fellow high fallutin’ vermin didn’t have to because they were too good to spread covid.
LOL
These people have no self awareness. If that dork Fetterman is going to be in the Senate, he can put on a suit.
Great Idea
I wonder who will be the first to show up in drag?
What’s silly is the rule should have never been required in the first place. A US Senator - one would think - would comport themselves to dress appropriately for such an office. Even Davey Crockett chose to not wear his coonskin cap or buckskins in Congress. But I doubt he wore a suit.
However by bringing all this out in the open they all look rather foolish. They kill this rule for one Senator and now another Senator wants to bring it back. Junior High. What’s next - measure the girl’s skirts? Nope. Can’t do that because the dems can’t even agree on what a ‘girl’ or ‘woman’ is. :-)
Pathetic.
I’ve got a much better solution...
Anyone who doesn’t want to wear proper business atire can just stay home in their underwear and forget about all that ‘grown up’ Senate stuff.
So the lower class scum will still be subjected to dress requirements, like keeping a slip knot tied around their throats. But the elites are exempt.
I doubt many of us are impressed with Manchin over this.
Call his bluff - change the rule to require either a suit or total nudity.
