The proposed rule would amend the ATF regulations to clarify that firearm dealing that requires a license and conduct conducting a background check does not solely occur in brick-and-mortar stores,” a senior DOJ official said. “It also encompasses dealing at gun shows flea markets mail order and over the internet

That statement is 1000% proof positive that these morons don’t have the slightest idea what they’re talking about.

Mail order? When was the last time anyone bought a gun from a Sears catalogue. Good Lord. These people don’t know anything about this industry and how the transactions are made. WOW!!!!!

This is shameful that these people, the ones making these decisions, are so effin’ dumb.

He should reach out to the VanZoller chick and her husband, the documentary film makers. Ask her how it went when they went to a gun show to document how easy it was to buy a gun and got skunked. Same for the Senior Senator from Arizona, maybe he can talk about how “easy” it was, after he got skunked.

The regulation basically states that if you sell a firearm and make any profit you are a firearms dealer and must be licensed.

Sell that Swedish Mauser you got thirty years ago for $95 for $500 now to a friend without going through an FFL and you're looking a 5-7 years.

This is their way of enforcing universal background checks without any legislation.
